The Happiest Place on Earth

04 January

We decided to leave for Florida a little early this year and go to the Magic Kingdom at Disney.  We stayed right next door at Bay Lake Tower at the Contemporary Resort, and could see Disney from our balcony.

Keeping it simple with room service for dinner
before we headed down to the pool.

The next morning we ate at Chef Mickey's, which was conveniently located in our hotel.  It's a huge buffet with characters that dance around the room and also come up to your table for pictures.  Claire and Max loved it, but Grace wasn't too thrilled when the characters invaded her personal space.

(For whatever reason, Max has decided to make awkward faces instead of smiling for pictures.  Here's hoping it's just a stage-because he really does look awkward. )

This control freak mom loves that I can still squeeze all of my kids on the stroller. I like knowing  exactly where they all are and not worrying about anyone accidentally wandering off, especially in busy places.  Plus, it helps us all keep up with speed-walker daddy.
Thanks to getting there early, going the week before Christmas, and FastPass, we walked right on all but one ride (later that evening Claire decided she wanted to try Space Mountain, so we waited 15 minutes for that. I kind of forgot just how dark/fast/full of drops that ride is...she was just slightly terrified and said her favorite part was the moving walkway that leads to the exit).

Perhaps Max gets his awkward facial expressions from his father?

Taking the monorail back to the hotel for some much needed naps before heading back to the park.

After the parade we walked back to the hotel, gave the kids baths, and put them in their pj's.  Then we watched the fireworks right from our room. It was a pretty great day!

    1. YES! There was only one other family at the pool- and the only time we even saw other people was at breakfast...it was very relaxing! And for real, it takes 5 minutes to walk to Magic Kingdom from there. I highly recommend that hotel. ;)
