One Year

13 July

This sweet girl has been through quite a bit in her first year of life. 16 days in the hospital. 6 ultrasounds. 2 MRIs. 1 X-ray. 1 CT scan. 1 round of sclerotherapy. I know that these numbers are just going to keep going up, and it breaks my heart that she has to go through all of this. But I also know that she was created by God, and that He has a reason for all of it and will pull us through.  My sweet sister-in-law shared this verse with me the other day: "Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need." Hebrews 4:16

Tessa is scheduled to receive sclerotherapy the first week of August. Her doctors believe that there is some inflammation occurring in her malformation, which could be the reason behind her fevers. We are hopeful that the sclerotherapy will resolve this issue and that she will begin to feel more comfortable. In order to receive the sclerotherapy, however, her hemoglobin count needs to increase. Her doctors have increased the amount of her iron supplements, and would like her to have labs done in two weeks.  So I ask you to pray that the supplements will raise her count by that time.

These pictures were always so easy and fun to take each month...until the very last one.  After Tessa got sick, she became a different baby...our gummy grinning, happy girl was gone, and still hasn't returned. 😢 So I snapped that twelve month picture of her very quickly- and the lighting was off, and it looks like she doesn't have arms, but at least she wasn't sobbing. I hope and pray that one day she'll feel good enough to be that smiley little girl again.
