Tough Like Tessa

15 September

Tessa has been doing great lately! She definitely has more energy with all the extra blood from her transfusion. Although her body had learned to compensate at such a low level and she wasn't necessarily fatigued, I can see now that she really wasn't feeling great. Even her little personality is showing through more...and baby girl actually does have quite a bit of sass and silliness.
She had her blood drawn on Tuesday and her hemoglobin was 7.4, so thankfully it has remained stable since her transfusion.  She's scheduled to receive more sclerotherapy on Wednesday. She handled the last treatment really well, and was able to go home just a couple hours after it was finished, so hopefully it will go just as well this time!

This was her blood transfusion.  Not going to lie...it was pretty gross to watch (which is clearly indicated by my face below). It took about 3 hours for all that blood to make it's way into her little body. She was such a champ during the process.
And then it was back to normal at home, and we were all enjoying watching her want to explore her surroundings more.

Tessa's physical therapist brought this to try and get her to put some weight on her legs. She'll stand in her walker or exersaucer, but she doesn't really get the feel of "walking" when she's in them. Hopefully this puppet contraption will encourage her in that direction. So far she thinks it's pretty fun, and it gives my arms a decent workout. #winningallaround

Thank you for your continued prayers for our sweet girl. There are so many unknowns and uncertainties with her condition, and at times that can feel overwhelming. But we're ever so thankful that her Heavenly Father, the one who created her, knows all of the
"unknowns".  So we continue to put our trust in Him.
