Tough Like Tessa

02 August

Tessa was originally scheduled to receive sclerotherapy today, Thursday, and Friday, but her hemoglobin is still too low. Her doctors believe that she has some bleeding in her malformation, which is causing her numbers to be lower than they should be.  She also has some inflammation in there as well, which is causing her some discomfort.  Tomorrow she starts on an oral medication called sirolimus that should help with these symptoms.  Her sclerotherapy has been rescheduled for September 6-8, so we're hopeful that her numbers will be better by that time.  For the most part, she has been pretty happy lately...which is something we love to see!
